I use QWK readers called MultiMail, right now I'm using the DOS Version with
Windows XP, but I do occasionally use the Windows Version of the reader.

Before writing this Reply to You I pressed the + key once and the next message
appeared on the screen.
That message did have a Tagline, so I actually did see another Tagline.

Some people send Taglines with their messages, some people don't.
I choose to include a Tagline in my messages.

Taglnes are One Line phrases, most of them in my Tagline file I "Think" are
funny or silly.
Occasionally I select a Tagline that has a serious meaning.

If You use a Newsreader like Mozilla Thunderbird to read BBS Echo's pressing
the + key might not put the next message on the screen.
I've only tried using a Newsreader once (Outlook Express in XP) a long time
ago.

I like using the QWK reader better, so didn't try using a Newsreader any more.

I have another Tagline that says something like "press CTRL H for another
message", which of course would end the BBS connection if You were connected
to the BBS by Dial-Up.

IIRC, CTRL H is the command to tell a Dial-Up Modem to end the call.

Taglines like that aren't meant to be mean to users that are not concerned
with the Technical stuff about their equipment, they are meant more to cause
a grin to people who already learned a lot about computer things.

That's why I joined my first BBS many years ago.
As a BBS User I can Read and Ask Questions to the folks who have years of
experience working with computers and avoid a lot of problems.

I ask a question about something and usually more than one person sends me
a message that will help make my life easier by telling me the pitfalls to
watch out for.

Many Thanks to those reading this message who have helped me along the way!
