SH> Sweden is not the be-all or end-all for winter driving and you might pay SH> attention to what is done elsewhere. A trickle charger worked well for me SH> for several years, thereby extending the life od a so-so battery. Yesterday I was down at SAAB and spoke with old friends that have worked with engines for over 25 years and asked them what they would chose between a block heater and a trickle charger and they all answered a block heater. Rememer that theese guys have been all over the world, doing engine testing from Death Vally USA, Australia, Canada and up to the Pole-circle(sp?) and what they dont know about engine isn't worth knowing and they have tested everything worth testing during this 25 years and I have 100% confidence in them. So it isn't a Swedish be-all problem. SH> It's nice to know all the parts are properly optimized now. They SH> certainly were not in the 60s and 70s. And remember that I go back far SH> enough to remember 6V batteries.:-) Just like a battery for a diesel engine then. //Bj”rn ---* Origin: .
