Not if it was compressed to begin with, but yes if it wasn't.  Don't think
you need to do this though if you have a big enough hard drive on the
target PC.

You wont be able to do that, but you will be able to copy the .bkf file to
that hard drive, then put it back in your mothers computer and run the
restore from there.

much left.

That's what I would do, and then restore any *data* from the backup.
