To continue my story about the cruise:
We loaded in Ft Lauderdale on saturday. Next day we stopped at Eleuthera, at
Princess Cays for snorkeling in the afternoon. In the morning Jules was
taking class and the boats relaying people from cruiseboat to shore were 
ull.
So we practiced some of what he had learned that morning. He seemed quite
comfortable with a bottom of about 15 feet below us. He even dove to get
shells on the sandy bottom.  Jules uses his own mask and tuba. We did see
some fish, maybe five or six different kinds.
We were using our BCD. I found it a lot of work to blow it up and emptying it
everytime I wanted to dive. Also I found I couldn't stay under very well.
Must of still had air in the BCD. Only later in the cruise did I learn to use
the string on my right shoulder to empty the air more completely! Remember I
have new equipment.  My BCD is a scubapro. Also the water was about 74ø so I
got chilled after a while. The sun was shining. We caught the last boat
back to the cruiseship, not without byuing a sun dress in the shop first!
Next day, monday, we were at sea. So Jules continued his classes. Jules knew
most of the theory stuff for having drilled me on my material when I was
learning to dive. It is with the practical that he needed more help. Jules
started to complain of the little practice they actually had, despite the
fact that classes would drag on a hour longer than planned. I think he was in
class for 5 hours that day.
I was reading material for a course in the use of computers in education I'm
taking by correspondance. I was trying to avoid burning in the sun. I slept
a lot on the ship. Real relaxation. Only one problem though, we had the
kitchen above our "stateroom", and got the wake-up call at 5 every morning!
We were in a "mole hole" as one of the actors on board mentionned at one of
the very fine entertainment evenings. We did not have a window to our
stateroom, but did not miss it since the weather was very nice the whole
week. It rained only the first night.
