No, there are client side addons for W2K so you can connect from W2K to an
XP box, I believe there is also a client for linux (at least I think I saw
one in the latest knoppix).
Personally I think MS should make both the client and host sides for every
version of windows and supply them with no licensing restrictions at all,
from a windows uses pov it's basically like supplying telnet or ssh or
xwindows with any unix distribution. It's a basic requirement in todays
world just like email or browser.
