JR> Hello !!! I am the system operator of the bbs that Steve plays on
JR> here in Memphis, Tennessee... the message you sent Steve arrived
JR> here as a NETMAIL message... I am the only one on my bbs with
JR> access to the NETMAIL area,
Then -WE- have a problem, Jim Ryans.

| (6) All notifications of rules violations and other rules discussions will
| take place via netmail. Rules violations will be crash netmailed to the
| participant and host sysop. Requests for cooperation posted in the echo
| are not to be construed as "notifications" for purposes of Rule 7. All
| participants must be capable of receiving crash netmail on the BBS that
| they post from. Check with your sysop, if you are unsure of the availa-
| bility. Sysops who do not provide an -inbound- netmail service to their
| users, will have this echo restricted from their system.
Please pay particular attention to the last part where it states that "All
participants must be capable of receiving crash netmail on the BBS that they
post from."
There is -NO- reason why you, as a Fidonet sysop, should not provide access
to inbound netmail message to your users. You have two choices at this
juncture:
(1) Provide access to your users to read inbound netmail messages in a
-PRIVATE- setting on your BBS.
-or-
(2) Your node will be prohibited from receiving the CHESS echo.
Please advise me of your choice via NETMAIL. I am sending a copy via netmail
to you also. If I do not receive a reply acknowledging your choice within
five days, I shall execute choice #2 on your behalf.
JR> so if I do not move the your message to the CHESS ECHO, Steve
JR> will never see it...
And if you -DO- move the message to the CHESS echo you will have violated the
CHESS Echo Conference Rules as well as United States Law. I do not recommend
that option to you.
You need to move the message to a PRIVATE communications facility on your BBS
so that Steve can read the message PRIVATELY.
JR> So, I suggest that you reply to Steve's messages in the same
JR> message area that you receive them in:
Actually I suggest that Steve should find a new BBS with a more realistic
sysop.
JR> the CHESS ECHO message area... that way Steve will see your
JR> messages and I will not have to move them for you... Thanks !!!
