Perhaps the fundamental problem is one step removed: the people who
vote for millionaires like Ted Kennedy.
I don't know that money necessarily is a good way to winnow out the
incompetent, but why should some rich kid that's not ever done a lick
of work tell me how to live my life?
But I do think we need something better as a mechanism to help weed out
the professional legislators.
