| subject: | interface is _serial_ |
Hi Roy (of 1:270/615), On , in a message to Greg Mayman you wrote: RJT> Oh, and the other thing about it is that its interface is _serial_. RJT> There are a number of dipswitches and I have no info about how to RJT> set them up. I have a semi-retired SMITH-CORONA electric typewriter that features a serial port. At the time, circa 1985, I bought it specifically for the option to "automate" printing from a computer (at which time an x86 or x88 was a big bucks). Well.. never got around to programming the serial port for it. The typewriter has other redeeming features though. It just boggles the mind when I think about how much computer tech and interfaces have changed over the recent years - and how much money I've poured into keeping up with the stuff. ...August --- FMail/Win32 1.60* Origin: Vegetarians eat vegetables.
