It is possible, but for now the "chip" can only be presented as a guess,
as we cannot know for sure exactly what the mark will be. However, it is
a very good guess! The public at large isn't really speculating about 
mandatory "marks" for buying & selling, but increasingly the stage is
set for people to accept identity cards with biometric identifiers as
a means to "positively identify" people, stamp out "identity
theft",
crack down on money launderers & terrorists, drug traffickers and all
manner of "evil doers" - i.e. pretty much anyone, as it will be
"needed"
to get a job, drivers licence, open a bank account etc etc.

When (or if) people wake up to what has happened, it will be largely too
late for them, & they will line up to receive their chip implants etc.
