Agree.  It's been a long time since I've done it, but I certainly remember
having to get my translation table right, before compiling the nodelist. 
Interestingly, when Australia renumbered its phone network in the mid 1990s (as
the height of my BBSing days), there was no change to the table that I could
recall.  I inspected my translation table and did a test compile, and all
looked good with the resulting phone numbers. :)
