Laplink PCMover.
JUST used it to move from my old A21p, where the SIMM socket died, and won't
properly work with 2 chips in place, to a newer A31 (yea, still not totally
new).
This laptop has a 4 partition HD, C, D, E, G, with close to 60 gig of
"stuff" on it. I pre-partitioned the target machine, the A31,
with the same partition structure, and had the OS installed on E, like it
was on the old one.
Ran PCMover, it took, oh 6 hours or so to move everything, but it moved the
entire machine, apps, etc. I think I had to re-enter 1 or two serial
numbers, but NOT re-install the apps.
It even auto disables programs set to auto start, and gives you a startup
option program where you can say yes/no to each, and it can do that on
every boot until you tell it not to do that anymore.
