1 - Save the following two non-blank lines to "bad.rtf:"
{\rtf1 This is a test: {\fldinst SYMBOL 174
}
2 - Load bad.rtf into MS Word 7.0 under Win95.
General Protection Fault.
For even more fun and games, include this file as an attachment in your
e-mails -- MS users will get a nice friendly icon which deep-sixes Word
whenever it's clicked.
For still more fun and games, include it in your Web pages or news articles
as an attachment. Chances are MicroSloth software will kindly "recognize" it
as an RTF attachment and try to use Word to look at it. Wonder how many
Words will be crashing out there tomorrow... :-)
Typical MS software quality: Garbage in, general protection fault out.
