Ric took a deep breath, let it out slowly and said to Ed:
EG>> RJ> But, of course, Ed, there WAS the forearm.
EG>>I said I had a problem with the foreman, not a big one but a problem.
HAT
EG>>problem vanished with Vina's picture in USA Today and his continuing
EG>>remarks that make him out to be a victim (The hypocritical little toad).
Ok. Though I thought I felt stongly about this incident, it was your
pointing to the Pudge Rodriguez-Vina incident that made me stop and
reconsider. Perhaps you and the others that have defended Belle are
correct in this instance. And perhaps it was this coupled with recent
incidents (like the HR ball in Arlington that he wouldn't even trade a
measly autograph for)that just caught me wrong. I wouldn't want to put
restraints such as this on the base runners ability to do what is
neccessary to be successful on the basepath, whether that be advancing
or breaking up a double play. Sooo.. On this issue I abdicate and
apologize to those I chastised for standing up for Belle. (I still
think he is a jerk, and could be a great help to the games image with
just a LITTLE effort. I hate having to explain his many negative
reactions to my 11 year old son)
EG>>With the exception of Steve Lyons, NO former or present ML player has a
EG>>problem with what Belle did. The only ones expressing indignation are
media
EG>>types who want to get back at Belle for past transgressions
Of which there are many. Why must he be so confrontational? IMHO he
brings so much to the Great Game, but takes away oh so much more.
 (and who would
EG>>have cried like babies for hours if Belle would have done that to them),
EG>>people who have only seen the media-slanted replays (or who simply hate
EG>>Belle so much that they don't want to see the truth), the Brewers' fans
and
EG>>of course, the Brewers' players and management.
Agreed (begrudgingly) [:D
