On , mrw@mrw.noc.demon.net (Mike Whitaker) quoted a post by
Amanda Marlowe which hasn't gotten here yet but looks
like it would be fun to answer anyway:

> 1. A "Banned from Argo" filk
>

Sorta - one verse of "Move Over Dr. Frankenstein" is to BFA, as is the
chorus.

> 2. A Star Trek Filk. Or three. Or Four.
> of a Voyager filk to "Barrett's Privateers">

Nope, not one. Not sure why, either - I've picked on other TV fare
including Blake's 7 and Babylon 5.

> 3. A Tolkien filk
> count??>

Nope, though I've put "Three rings for the elven kings under the sky.." etc
to music. Along with a lot of other people. :->

Several, of which "Sung From Under The Bed" is my favorite.

Nopers. After hearing both the Black and the White Unicorn (also Tom
Smith's little addition to the genre), I see very little need for me to say
anything more on the subject. :->

Several, including the serious "Don't Look Back", and the silly "I Want A
Bear".

> 7. A MST3K filk

Hmm... now there's an idea. Not yet.

And a few of Mike's remarks.

MW>Personally, I don't believe there *are* standards, but, hey...
 MW>Try one or more of:
MW>An X-men filk (seems to be more common in the UK)

Nope.

MW>A "Before the Dawn" song (in-joke, stop smirking, Sutton)

Nope, but I've added the third song to something that seems to be growing
the same way (one filker wrote a song about a guy who's furry girlfriend
was being hustled off to some sort of concentration camp, another wrote a
song from the girlfriend's pov, and I added one from the terrorist about to
blow up the tracks in front of the train. And like BTD, nobody's got a
name, just a designation.)

 MW>A filk about filking.

A few...
