| subject: | Average age parrots associate words with objects? |
Can anyone tell me how young (on average) grey's are able to associate
words with objects? I know each grey is different and some never talk
yada yada. I'm just asking for ballpark averages or personal
experiences.
My grey is two years old and knows about 10 words. I've been trying to
teach her the difference between an almond and a peanut (both words she
knows) for months now to no avail. If I hold up an almond and ask her
"what's this" she just randomly says peanut and almond knowing that one
of those will get her the treat. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong
in the training or if she's just still to young.
Thanks,
Andy
