I don't smoke but I will find a way or someone to do this test. Good
suggestion.

Yes there is a connection that exhaust gasses pass under the carb but there
does not appear to be any cracks through there.

There is no baffle in this engine. Does not appear to ever be one there. Not
like the other engines I have seen.

The Carb is tight, so that probably is not it. There are other suggestions
that people have posted, I thank you for all your input.. :-)
