Why on earth would he agree to a lifetime suspension if he hadn't bet on MLB? 
 Everyone who has ever read the reports has agreed that he most definitely 
bet on MLB.  There is some debate on whether or not he bet on his own team, 
but most agree he did that, too.
Having said that, I still think he should be eligible for the HoF, even if he 
remains banned from MLB in general.  Let his on-field exploits be judged on 
their own merits.
