| subject: | EleBBS: File Transfers under OS/2 |
This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0001_01C67322.8A3A59C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable * EleBBS Support List Has anyone noticed an unusually large number of errors when using the internal Zmodem to upload to the BBS (EleBBS 0.10rc1) running under OS/2 with SIO2K 2.03? I was testing it yesterday. EleBBS would not even allow me to complete an upload using the internal Zmodem; it kept aborting with TONS of errors. The downloads work OK, but about 80% slower than the DOS version of RemoteAccess (which is running on a VERY old and slow machine BTW.) Telnet connection between the 2 machines, both of which are on my switched home 100MBps network was yielding 5-6000 cps with EleBBS, whereas the DOS version of RA (running under OS/2 also with SIO2K 2.03) was yielding downloads of 30-40k cps. Uploads work under RA with minimal errors also. I'm sure that people will suggest using external protocols, so my next question is: What do you recommend for OS/2 native external protocol programs? I have an OS/2 version of the old CEXYZ around here somewhere, and probably Hydracom 1.0x also. If I can, I'd like to avoid using DOS external protocols, as I'm trying to get as much stuff switched to OS/2 native as possible.
