DS> (a) I don't miss any mail in the switch DS> (b) I don't send out mail from one feed to the other one. Here's what I recommend to the people in our net when they're switching feeds; 1) Poll your old uplink, picking up/returning mail. 2) Toss that mail. 3) Immediately re-poll old uplink with areafix message turning everything off. 4) Change your setups to reflect new link addressing. 5) Poll new uplink with areafix message turning everything on. 6) Enjoy new feed. That process has always worked well here. You might miss a little mail, but not a significant amount, and the chances for dupes are reduced this way. (Since your new uplink will have you in it's seenbys, keeping you from getting your own mail.) This is about the "safest" way to do it. If you're using Seal for your areafixer, you can have it automatically change the uplink for you. (But you'll still want to do a manual check that everything is OK in your Squish.Cfg, just to be safe.) --gary --- Maximus v3.01* Origin: http://oeonline.com/~garyg/maximus/ (1:2410/400) SEEN-BY: 396/1 632/0 371 633/260 267 270 284 371 634/397 635/506 725 728 SEEN-BY: 639/252 670/218 @PATH: 2410/400 10 140/1 396/1 633/260 635/506 728 633/267 |
