They work well the Couriers, don't they :).
No one is misbelieving that you _saw_ this CPS rate on your comm program. 
However, there might be a difference between the actual CPS rate and the rate 
displayed by the comm program.
Myself, for instance, get CPS rates of around 5'500 on 28k8 connects since I 
installed Windows NT :). Now there are two possibilities: either I say that I 
have the best modem around and that Nyquist was wrong, or I admit that there 
must be a problem with the way FrontDoor calculates CPS under NT 4.0. And I 
_know_ that it's FrontDoor doing wrong calculations as they're based on NT's 
clock (timer) ticks. And there _is_ a problem with those :)
