TR> DM> buy PD's _Lost In America_ CD...
TR> What? What's this? Can you supply details, please? When recorded;
TR> where; personnel?
On _Lost In America_, Pavlov's Dog consists of:
David Surkamp voice, guitar
Douglas Rayburn keyboards
Michele Isam voice, sax
Robert Lloyd bass
Frank Kriege drums
So, two of the originals, David and Douglas, are still there. Original
lead guitarist Steve Scorfina is listed as a special guest for the title
cut and "As Lovers Do". It was apparently done in St. Louis, mastered in
Nashville (Masterfonics), and released in 1990. David and Douglas also
produced it. My CD is on Telectro (no cat# found).
The sound is probably closer in style to their second, _At The Sound of
the Bell_, but it seems a bit more even to me. Overall, I'd say the
album has more of a pop feel than the first two. But there are a couple
of songs that stand out for me. Not to the extent "Song Dance" did on
the first album (my personal favorite of theirs), but certainly moreso
than anything on the second one. Even one of my friends frequently
selects it when it's his turn to pick CD's during our AD&D game. In his
case, it's for one song, "A Hardly Innocent Mind".
Here's a song list:
Lost In America
A Hardly Innocent Mind
Don't Rain On Me
Not By My Side
Pantomine
Breaking Ice
You & I
All Night
As Lovers Do
Brown Eyes
Words & music for all is credited to both David and Douglas.
