I have a server at tera-byte.com, the 15Gb rate. http://web.tera-byte.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=services.colocated It's a great place, reliable power and network. It's a real data center, with 24-hour staffing, and a 800 number for support that is answered 24/7 by an onsite human. One time I was playing and I crashed my server (I know, not the best thing to do when the server is 2000 miles away, and the only access is via ssh). I sent an email to the support desk, asking for help. Two or three minutes later I got a reply saying that the were in the process of hooking a local console up to my server. The tech sent me another update a few minutes later saying the server was in fsck and that he "would stay with it until it came back up". This was the only support request I ever had to make with them in the 4 years my server has been there. There was no charge for the tech's time. Stay away from ciHost. I had nothing but bad experiences with them. /m P.S. Now when I want to play, I use the server in my basement.... --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
