EXACTLY! Pete Rose should've never been banned, and the day he was banned 
(August 24, 1989) I lost a world of respect for major league baseball....
What makes me sick is this, however: When Pete Rose signed the agreement with 
Bart Giamatti concerning his removal from pro baseball, Rose allowed the 
situation where he was "banned for life" but could apply for reinstatement 
after one year.. Had he not, Pete would have been "suspended" for SEVEN 
YEARS, no ifs ands or butts (according to his book).. So, ironically, had 
Rose just taken the suspension, he would technically be back in baseball 
right now, instead of just having applied for reinstatement for what?? The 
third time?? *sigh*
I for one don't think Pete Rose EVER bet on a major league baseball game, and 
I don't think he ever would.
