subject: challenging the candidate

Hi Carol!

20 Nov 2016 21:55, from Carol Shenkenberger -> Jeff Smith:

CS> My questions for all candidates are pretty basic.
CS> 1- Do you have the capability of working well with others regardless
 CS> of country of origin?

Sure ... but I think this is much easier in a technical domain.
You have a technical proposal which can be evaluated and the actual facts
discussed.
You can also discuss the advantages/disadvantages of different approaches more
easily.

CS> 2- Are you capable of understanding that what you know in your zone
CS> isnt how others operate and able to listen/learn so you can wisely
CS> make decisions that will not harm another zone?

If you come from a country the size of Austria, you are very aware of that.
Bartislava is ~50km away, Brno ~100km ;)
In the monarchy Vienna was the melting pot of cultures (check sweets, hungarian
gulyas, ... ;)

I see absolutely no issue to work together with different people from different
zones (actually that is what we are doing ... (except zone 4 ... I have no
active link into that zone)

Regarding LOC of FTN software written ... have not written any at all, for me
that is also not a core competency of FTSC.

I have taken over english documentation of golded, when Alex Aganichev started
his -asa branch, and continued in the Golded+ era.
Many config files still have the send comments to 2:310/31 remark in them.
(eg. making the advanced.cfg runnable on the "old" golded 3.0.1 and on
golded+.)
