LD said it right. It makes no difference which way the barrel is mounted.
Try this for your own clarifacation. Take a nut and screw. Screw the screw
into the nut. Mark the screw with an arrow showing the direction you turned
it.  Take the nut off and turn it over and try it again. OR get some
threaded rod and turn it end for end. It works the same way . And if this
is a put-on so be it.
 I can't imagine that the direction of twist would have any effect as per L
D's statement. The amount of twist is another matter. Iknow the airgun
manufacturers have done research on this and I'll trust their judgement. I
do wonder if the muzzle velocity would effect this or not.   Would a gun
designed to shoot light pellets at 800 fps be better with more or less
twist if it's shot at say 1200 fps?
