Just wanted to but in here and Agree with you.
I took a 30 gal long and changed it from Fresh to salt when the Oscar
that lived in it pased away. (had him for 5 years)
The switch over was some what expensive for a Pre going tank, IMHO. It
was aprox 100, for the new filters and gravel. But once I got the fish
it was well worth it. We spent 50$ on fish and did not spend a nother
dime on it for 6 months. It was a great tank.
The main difference is the Time not the money. When my wife had the
baby we found that we did not have the time to check everything each
day and when the first fish dies, we asked our friend to take all of
our fish and we drained the tank. (Going back to Fresh water next
month)
But I am happy to say that all of our fish are living in his 100gal and
loving it.
