Good idea, but there's no Free Lunch. Your trick is to install NT4 as a BDC
on the new box. NT4 has to work ok on the motherboard (should be no
problem) *and* the NIC. I would take a lot of time to try this. Install NT4
simply as a server on the new box for practice and to see if you will hit
any big problems. Then do another NEW install on the same box, this time as
a BDC.

One problem you will have is that if you are using IDE drives and have a
large drive, you might need to do some funky stuff to have NT4 install (you
have to upgrade the disk drivers during the install).

It's probably not worth worrying about, but you will end up with a small
cluster size - less than optimum.

If your domain is critical, you should spend a WEEK or more studying the
Microsoft documentation (as per Rich's advice).
