FYI, if you are sitting at a linux prompt, and run this command:

wget https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/raw/master/install/GNUmakefile

It will pull down a "you need to log onto gitlab" web page and save it as the
makefile rather than getting the actual makefile.  I got around it by right
clicking the link on the wikipage and doing a save-as.

Figured it out when make barfed on line 1, which was an html tag and not the
separator it was expecting.
