| subject: | Charset Kludge ? |
Hi All,
a few days ago I installed MsgED 4.20 beta3 on my sysop point system and
did some testing with it. I like it very much but one thing keeps me from
going on using it at the moment (which means I'm back with Y2K-dead timEd):
Doesn't above mentioned version of MsgED support charset kludges (like
described in FSC-0054) or am I just to stupid to turn charset support on ?
Personally I wouldn't need that kind of stuff anyway, but quite a lot of
people in Fidonet region24 use special German characters for which IBMPC 2
charset should be used.
If MsgED doesn't support FSC-0054 now, is it planned to add this function
somewhen in future ? Or could MsgED simply convert all characters into
ASCII when saving a message, so quoted IBMPC 2 characters won't be sent
without a proper charset kludge ?
I hope you can help me with this problem, many thanks in advance !
Greetings,
Tobias
