MH> Huh?? What TREK of the 30's and 50's??
The best evidence to date was the legal issue of FORBIDDEN PLANET.
Or haven't you noticed the similarities of Captain J.J. Adams and Captain
James T. Kirk?
Both had a doctor as a 'confidante', both had logical first officers, both
had "Mr. Fixit" engineers...both are members of planetary organizations, both
are explorers who perform military duties as needed.
And, of course, both got the girl, too.
The studio fought hard, but lost out, and the changes were made to keep the
Trek references out.
Even better, is the historical evidence shown that indicates the Lincoln-Kirk
connections as well...had it not been for the Civil War and Lincoln's
assassination, the United States might have landed on the Moon in the middle
of the 19th Century, thanks to the Trek legend...
