Then call it with a delay of 60 instead of calling it 60 times... DOH!
I didn't write the routine, but thought it had the right components.
Your point is well appreciated however, thanks for the comment.

I would more likely use something like:
 ON TIMER(1) GOSUB counter:
etc.

In any case I would rather avoid writing a delay routine. Time is
already too precious to waste in a timing loop...
