Depends on how you define "pro".
A common cracker/hacker/whatever would be able to
bypass BIOS Password as well as encrypted system
sectors. I think even I would do it pretty easily
if I bothered to try (and search for information)
Of course, if they had good experts to help them, people
could get through MOST home made encryptions, but e.g
the swedish police wouldn't get through a MBR ecryption
I think, because I were doing an interview on computer
underground with "Rixkrim"'s computercrime-division, and
they were stupid morons... ;-)

Not if the password is needed to decrypt an encrypted sector,
or a whole set of sectors.
