It did wake some of us up who had been accustomed to boredom in monitoring
the domestic political scene. :) I think that one incident was enough for
justifying the continued existence of the Reform party. :)

Is California the state threatening to make English the only official
language? Is it threatening to leave unless it gets a better deal? Does it
try to coerce businesses who have non-English signs to display English signs
with letters twice as large as their non-English counterparts? I "could" go
on and on and on, but ... I'm sure you get the idea. :)
WE> So from BC, what's the quick fix for Quebec?
To give Quebec exactly what it wants ... if, and ONLY if, every other prov-
ince gets the same deal. Quebec's response will be 1 of 2 options: 1) we
want nothing but out so do whatever you want after we leave; 2) No way! ...
it is who are a distinct people, not you. The B.C. method is surely a
formula for breaking-up the whole country. The fact is that, B.C. does have
some justification for its frustrations, but, acting just like Quebec does
not seem a very wise course of action for a prudent society. :(

I was a vegetarian/fruitarian for quite a few years -- years and years ago.
But you need high-quality and a wide-range of produce to maintain such diets
in a healthy manner. My location, dictates that I make a certain degree of
compromise and invoke moderation in all things. Our supermarket, is subject
to no great competition and is less concerned with our health than our $$$.
My enjoyment of the winter solstice is exactly that. I live on the edge of
town and, within 10 minutes, can disappear into the bush so that I am unable
to even hear the sounds I've walked away from. On frosty winter nights, it
is lovely to go away. Conversely, when in my house, it is less than 10 mins
to the nearby mini-market; and the local bus service stops right outside my
door. In short, I've got a great location. :)
