Howdy David,
     No not completely, but I feel they are only indirect competitors
at most. A Delphi Database Application might Run almost twice as fast,
but it will take five times longer to pen, You choose. To be roughly
comparable to what you got with FP5, you must:
        1. Wait a few months for Delphi 3
        2. Buy the $2000 Client/Server Edition
        3. Have nerves of steel, to weather out Borland's worsening
           financial woes
