Reminds me of my former rabbi, who went to a synagogue in Ontario.
After a year he was back visiting us, and told me "everything is free"
[in Canada]...free college tuition when his kids got that age, free health
care, etc.
It took 20 minutes of walking him through an evaluation of Canada's
devalued currency, sales tax on goods and services, high taxes generally, and
overpriced gasoline in a nation exporting oil to convince that rabbi who has
a Ph.D. that "I guess you pay for it somehow"!
