PC>Greetings from Pensey's Point, Maryann!
Howdy Peter from the Big Apple!
PC>Chris Sallek put finger to keyboard and spelled out some words about
PC>Fonts... to Maryann Delucia on 07-May-96.
MD>> RO> I would not put more than you plan to work with at one
MD>> RO> time. I would choose about 50 as the max at any one
MD>> RO> time just to keep the font list from becoming too
MD>> RO> unwieldy. I tend to keep to about 15 favorits and use
MD>> RO> extras when I want a special effect.
PC>There is a practical limit if you don't allocate specific fonts to
PC>specific applications and that is the number that will appear on the
PC>"pop-up" menu. Once you have a screen full (and the number will depend
PC>on the screen font size and the screen resolution) there is no provision
PC>to open up another screen, leaving the font you want out of reach. So
PC>one screenful is the practical limit if you want to select all your
PC>fonts from the pop-up menu. At 1024 x 768 and large screen font, that is
PC>170.
Thanks for the reply and information. I'm not sure I understand it
all, but I will give it my best shot. The best lesson for me, is to
try it out and see if it works. Nothing like learning from my own
mistakes.
Thanks again Peter.
