I use the Omni brand which is very popular here. Basically, I saw the Pur 
brand but decided on the Omni type since just about everyone carrys it. As 
for the Teledyne, I did see it and the others and roughly they were within 
$3-4 or each other. The Omni happened to fit between them in price. I've been 
very happy with the results. FYI - I do use the std. filter cartridge type 
below the sink for the cold side and with the added Omni screw-on my 
coffe/juice mixes has definetly improved. Hard water is hardly noticed, but i 
do use a water softner before the latter installs and I have noticable
