AV> Let the candidates show their current competence...
AV> Here are several simple questions:

AV> 1. How many lines of code for FTN software have you wrote during this
AV> year? How many people do use that software?

Grin, how about how many lines of code total have been written by anyone this
year?

Swap it up. I have about 400 SQL sets servicing an estmated 35,000 customers
this year but none of it is FTN related. Thats this year. I'm the head of the
team bringing US Navy Reserve force training needs online.

AV> 2. If someone would ask you to help with setting up a Fidonet node, what
AV> FTN software would you recommend? How many people did you helped this way
 AV> during this year?

I tell them to use what they like best and find them a mentor if needed. I
think it's 5 nodes this year but I'll need to cross check with RC13 or Z1C.
Last one was a month ago. Steven Sheely is I think, the most recent. Working
currently with 2 nodes beta testing Mystic who needed help with routing
netmail. (uncertain but seemed to be documentation issue now resolved)\\\

AV> 3. Which regular expression would you use to select independent nodes and
AV> all their points from a text file containing FTN addresses?

If I can translate your question:
route-to zone:net/node zone:net/all (if they accept for all their net)
ROUTE-TO zone:net/node.0 zone:net/node.* (some softwares like * vs ALL)
ROUTE_TO 3:712/848 3:ALL (sends all netmail for Z3 to Scott Little)

Making up nets here:

ROUTE-TO 3:123/0 3:123/ALL
ROUTE-TO 3:234/0 3:234/7 3:324/8
ROUTE-TO 3:712/848 3:ALL

That puts all Z3 net (made up number) 123 to the NC. It takes all Z3 (made up
net 234) nodes 7 and 8 to their NC and then anything else goes to the default
route of Scott Little.

Was that what you were asking?

If so, the statements are positional as they are generally processed top down
(seems to have been the issue with the 2 Mystic testers here). THey had the
global above the exception set (pretty sure, they didnt answer but once I
pointed how it works, they stopped some routing issues.)
