With the software mirroring, assuming the primary drive blew (drive 0), you
have to pull the bad drive, change the jumper on the second drive so it's
ID'd as the first, then reboot. If you don't want to do that then you need
to keep a boot floppy around with the boot.ini set so it boots from drive
1. I keep the floppy in the case, that way I can pull the bad drive, boot
the floppy and go about getting a new drive.
When the system boots back up, break the mirror set. This keeps it from
rebuilding or messing with anything until you are ready, then after
installing the new drive you just recreate the mirror set like you did
originally using drive 1 as your new drive 0.
Geo. (I usually remirror it then replace the other old drive and remirror
it all over again)
