Times change, steroids and medical science changed the game.
When I started watching (American) football in 1981, the San Francisco
49ers were on the way to a championship, with a "finesse" offensive line
that relied on technique. A couple of years later, offensive linesman in
the 300 pound range showed up, and their "technique" was "Try and move this
much flesh and bone".
