Hello
VM> Sounds like fun. I've been trying to teach myselfRibbon Embroidery.
It's fun but not as much fun as stamping. I like the
fast results you get from stamping and stamping seems to be more
creative. Today at the store I work in I had to restock the stamp
shelves. It is always a dangerous time for me. I just can't resist
those stamps, especially since they are 25% off and I get another 15%
over that. Someday I may even have time to stamp again. All these stamps
and so little time (sigh).
How could you refer to ribbon embroidery as being harder than stamping.
It's a lot of fun when you get the knack and much easier to show off and
wear. Make the stitches as loose as you can tolerate and it will look
good.
I'm not sure which stitch is referred to as a twisted rose. Maybe it's
better to start with a woven rose. Embroider a star with 5 straight
stitches made in regular thread. Come up with ribbon in the center and
weave in and out of thread using the back of the needle as you go
forward. Only pierce the fabric again to end off the ribbon. I'll try
to include some ribbon instructions with the card.
