Tom, the world is a sorry place when you have to report what you did.
For the record, I have a blood stained, highly treasured jogging jacket.
Mind something slightly off topic? Hope not!
One day, jogging, I found this little lump. that seemed to try to meow but
wasnt quite able to. San Antonio Texas. Hurt, at the side of the road.
Something moved gently in the weeds near it, but even a mommie cat couldnt
fix this.
Took the little feller up, and walked *slowly and carefully* so as not to
hurt him, home. Second I got home, I called every vet I could find. Almost
all of them said to take him to the humane society. Having called them
already and being assured they would put him to sleep, I tried one last
number.
Local fellow, said he'd *try* but it would be expensive.
300$ later, I had a kitten named 'Bobby' (Just liked the name) who was in a
body cast and had to be dropper fed special cat milk every 2 hours around the
clock. Called my boss, and he being a kind soul, let me take 2 weeks leave.
I'd never had a cat in my life! Didnt know anything about 'em. Vet thought
I was crazy to adopt Bobby, but he smiled and said I'd do ok.
Bobby came out fine.
6 months later, I found out 'Bobby' was quite appropriate for his name as he
was a bobcat, but with a tabby heart.
2 years later, we all thanked God for saving him. He was large enough to
successfully pull a 2 year old, out of the apartment pool when he fell in,
thereby saving his life.
2 years ago, he died of old age, on a farm in Northern San Antonio. He was
surrounded by many generations of 'bobby-cats'. Gotta admit, he earned that
nice easy life on one of his days eh?
                                       xxcarol
