$extend is where ntfs stores things like quota information, $upcase I would
guess is where ntfs stores case sensitive versions of file names?

You can get to it and delete the files using regular explorer, you just
have to know it's there and type in the address bar to get to it but once
in that directory you can see and delete all the cache files.
