so you want to know about reef tanks? There are so many ways to build
one. The best way is to start out slowly. Dont rush. I mean this cause
you can lose allot of money fast.first thing is first. There are two
books i think your friend should get. 1st book is DR. Burgess's Atlas of
Marine Aquarium's. The 2nd book you should get is for
invertebrates,Giant Clams, etc etc, depends on what ur putting into the
tank.as for my self. I have two tanks one for fish and one reef. you
name it i have it, or had it, My tanks are now 7 yrs old and after the
first year i havent done a water change in my reef tank since. i had 1
gallon every 6 days cause of evaporation.other wise i leave it along.
all my filters do the work.wetdry, handles a tank size of 600 gals.
fluval403 (3) of them. Rainbow lifegard filter system, which is just for
carbon, and uv lite.(6) power heads all on wave makers.i also use a
protein skimmer called (the beast) by venturi made for 300gal tanks and
bigger.. my reef tank is 300 gallons.Cause all pet stores get allot of
money. to use to work for a warehouse. we supplied all pet store with
there fish. so i got mine for less than 1/3 of what your gonna pay for
them. and my supplies i got from. pet warehouse. there the cheapest
around. get there book. there # is 1-800-443-1160. you'll like all of
what they sell. even the lighten is great. i have al kinds of
lighten from them. give them a call.also you can order the books from
