Not as much as I would like to be doing but keeping sane is a good
thing right? Our garden. LOL! You want to hear about our 'garden'?
Get out the hankie.

Last March one fine warm sunny day we decided to attempt a small garden patch
outside the kitchen windows out back and next to the patio. About four
feet out and about 6 feet long. We planted a few pepper plants and a
tomato plant.

Then NE Texas came out of drought. It rained. It rained. It rained and
rained and rained and rained. Gosh it was looking like Seattle. The
trees were shooting up though! Everything greening up beautifully.
Excep our 'garden'. Our garden was.... drowning. I can still visualize
the rain coming down and the little green pepper plants struggling to
keep their little heads up.

During a brief dry spell we happened to LOOK UP at the roof and for
the first time in four years (had drought last three) we noticed OH!
There's no rain gutters on the back of the house. That's why you would
see this little rain pelted trench running down the middle of this
garden patch, in the path of the poor plants.

The pepper plants didn't make it but the tomato plant did. IT grew and
grew and grew but: no tomatoes. We did fertilize yes but for some
reason the tomato plant wasn't fruiting. (It did have the yellow
flowers yes.) hmm. We think if we had left it alone long enough it
MIGHT grow some tomatoes eventually (The vines were starting to get
thicker)... but by then at this rate it would be November most likely
and then well too cold probably....

I did have some luck with herbs in pots so not all is lost.

In other activities, I've done some dog sitting and hope to do more.
I ought to mention dog sitting in DOGHOUSE.

The highlight of our summer was a trip to Vancouver to visit my sister
and family there. It's a beautiful city to go to, In July. :)
(Their rain season has just started.)
......

JK> bit of time.. We're still getting warm weather in NY, thank goodness..

Still wonderfully warm here and especially at night. I love warm
evenings.

OH speaking of Chill. OH gosh I have to start this in a new topic.
Will do new message. Please let me know what you think. I think it is
very on topic. (Allergy??? to cold? Low tolerance yes that's me but
actually ALLERGY??? stay tuned.)

:) Did you try that no knead bread??? :)

And hey come on into Coffee Klatch. Someday I'll learn how to spell
it.
