I wasn't even thinking about recession from a political perspective when I
started thinking about it. I think the recession starting during an
election year is a coincidence.

I'd rather not have one at all. However, I think the Fed has let the
economy overheat too much and a recession is inevitable.

Given that it is inevitable I wouldn't mind if it prevented Gore's election.
