Put your CD areas in another .CTL file, such as CDAREA.CTL.  Include this
file from MAX.CTL instead of FILEAREA.CTL and you won't have this problem
any more.
BTW, Maxlist is awesome, and the 2.31 version was enough to convince me to
run the OS/2 version of it.  Previously I'd been lazy and still ran my DOS
setup although I've been running OS/2 for a while.
