-> Harry pronounced EVERY player's name backwards. Mainly, I suspect,
-> because it was easier for him than trying to pronounce it right...
Well, you need to keep in mind, while I watched baseball for many many years
(since 1979) and that even included Cubs games on WGN, I don't "remember"
Harry Caray before 1988.. Now, I'm not saying he wasn't there or I didn't
watch WGN, I just can't recall any Harry outside of 10 years ago... *sigh*
Which is funny, because I remember Vin Scully, Jerry Doggett and Ross Porter
quite well for the Dodgers, Bob Starr and Joe Torre (Yes, that Joe Torre) for
the Angels, and Chick Hearn and Keither Erickson (later Stu Lantz) for the
Lakers back as far as the early 1980's. But I can't remember any of Harry's
broadcasts before his stroke.....
So, I don't remember the "backwards pronounciations".. Besides, anyone here
TRY to pronounce Yaztremski backwards? *shudder*
