Here's the more technical way of countering the problem:
1. As soon as the game starts up, before starting the CD audio,
disable Music.
2. Start playing. Find a safe spot away from enemies. Then, press
"T" (normally the Talk multiplayer function) and type in:
CD loop
Or, if you only want to play the track once:
CD play
3. If step two doesn't work, you'll probably need to press "T" again
and then type in:
CD reset
CD on
