| subject: | Special Note: Msged32 4.30 |
This applies to the DOS 32-bit Msged version 4.30 (Msged32.Exe) *only*.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
If any of you have problems with not having enough memory when trying to
use an external editor or, when shelling out of Msged (Alt-J, Alt-O), try
starting it as:
DOS4GW Msged32.Exe
This will force the use the Dos4gw extender and will free up quite a bit of
conventional memory for any shell operation, including the use of external
editors and/or external spell checkers. Note that Dos4gw.Exe must be in
your current directory or somewhere in your path.
If you decide this is the best way to run Msged32 and you _don't_ want to
look at the Dos4gw "loading message", set an environment
variable:
Set DOS4G=QUIET
in your autoexec or wherever it's convenient.
